Julien Sharp, M.S., Writer & Social Media Consultant

julien-sharp-author-for-webJulien is the founder of Stylo Creative Communications, and personally manages every one of the firm’s projects. Julien has worked in the capacity of a copywriter and editor, and in related areas of creative and managerial work, since the early 90s. Her strengths include conceptualizing and producing engaging copy (and editing or modifying existing copy) for websites, social networking sites, blogs, feature magazines, business plans, brochures, corporate histories, and all types of collateral material.

Since 2001, Julien has been a consultant, writer, and marketer for clients in several different industries, including: digital/new media, design, legal, medical (surgery, healthcare, insurance, dental, physician profiles, and more), self-improvement (seminars and instruction), coaching, training, alternative medicine, travel, political issues, and business (emerging trends and best practices). She has also worked with manufacturing and distribution clients. Her experience is with both B2B and B2C.

She formed a successful, Miami-based consulting firm, Sharp Solutions, in 2003, growing it to a successful solo-operated firm before relocating to New York City in August of 2006. Since then she has writing and consulting in both New York City and Miami, strategically building relationships with writers and other creative professionals, all of whom are involved in Stylo Creative Communications.

Marco Bouwer came to Stylo from the higher education institutional development field.  Marco runs the Miami office, allowing Julien to continue to grow the business in the New York area. They work together on expanding business all over the US and abroad.

Marco’s strengths include writing, marketing, public relations, and strategic planning. He has a unique ability to create a buzz for virtually any organization, product, or service through the integrated use of the internet and other more conventional tools of the trade.  Marco is well versed in the exploding phenomenon of social media networking, and how to effectively use it to create brand awareness, create audience-specific messages, increase communication with key audiences, develop stronger customer relationships, and increase the bottom line of Stylo clients.

Born and raised in South Africa, Marco started his career in the fast-paced world of newspaper journalism.  It was at Media24 in Cape Town where he honed his writing skills.  This was followed by an extended stint in Southeast Asia, where he co-founded a monthly English-language magazine, conducted training sessions on various topics, and provided language consulting and business development services.  Since moving to Miami, he has been involved in brand creation and the development of comprehensive marketing campaigns targeted to audiences in both the public and private sectors. Marco is fluent in both English and Afrikaans.

Mohd Rafie Kamaruzaman, Minister of Technology

Mohd Rafie Kamaruzaman ("Rafie") is centrally involved in the creative direction of our project, and gives advice on the integration of technology solutions that meet or exceed the needs of our client.

He earned a scholarship award from Petronas, receiving the coveted designation as one of Malaysia’s top students. This award allowed him to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering (MEng) Hons. at Cardiff University, United Kingdom.

Rafie has won several design awards, both in web design and engineering design. He won a national- level web design competition in 2002 and 2003. In 2003, he entered Asia-Pacific Bridge Design competition, having been the chosen representative for his school.

Bruce MacLean, Logo and Design Specialist

bmacleanBruce MacLean has a diverse creative background, having worked as both an architect and, more recently, as an art director and graphic designer. He has designed every single corporate logo Julien Sharp has ever had, and lends his talents to the Stylo Design Team. He received his BSc in Architecture from the University of Toronto, a graduate degree in Graphic Design from Atlanta’s prestigious Portfolio Center, and is currently studying for an advanced degree in Interior Design at the Parsons School of Design in New York City.
